Graduation Questions

How many Announcements do I need?
An average student in Northern Michigan typically orders 40-50 Announcements.  It all depends on how big or small your family is and how many people you plan on inviting to your graduation / graduation party.

There are typically extra Announcements available in the spring on a first-come first-serve basis.  To ensure you have enough Announcements, we recommend ordering on-time in the fall with your class.

What is proper Announcement Etiquette?

We recommend that you use black or blue pen when personally filling out Announcements and addressing them.  Write complete addresses on envelopes and try to avoid using abbreviations.  Mail your Announcements to in state residents four weeks before the graduation and mail Announcements five weeks prior to graduation for out of state residents.

Additional Announcement & Graduation Etiquette information will be sent with your Graduation Products in the spring.

What do I do if my address changes throughout the year?
If any personal information changes throughout the year, please contact our local office and notify us right away.  If the change occurs after delivery, please contact our graduation correction office at (877) 475-7027.

As well, if for some reason there is an error on your address or your name is spelt wrong once you receive the product, please contact our graduation correction office at (877) 475-7027. New product will be sent directly to your home within one week.

How should my graduation gown fit me and what if it does not fit?
Graduation gowns are made to fit each individual.  They made to drape loosely on the student.  The length of the gown should be, half way between your knee and ankle (mid shin).  If the gown does not fit you, please contact our office so we can exchange the gown and get you one that fits.

How do I care for my graduation cap and gown?

Once you have received your graduation cap and gown, we strongly encourage you to try it on.  If it fits, hang the gown on a hanger in a clean location. Do NOT iron your gown. If you must de-wrinkle your gown, we recommend you steam it.

What do I wear underneath my gown on graduation day?
Seniors should wear formal to semi-formal attire underneath their graduation gown. Some schools have dress codes for what is to be worn or not worn on graduation day, so we recommend that you check with your high school.

Male Students: Dress Shirt & Tie, Dress Slacks, Dress Shoes (No Sandals / No Tennis Shoes)
Female Students: Nice Dress, Dress Slacks & Blouse, Flat Dress Shoes (High Heels Not Recommended)

***Please Note: If wearing a light color gown, we recommend wearing a light color outfit with no patterns or prints.
